St. Theresa Summer Camp
Canoeing and Fishing

Everyday, weather permitting, campers get to paddle down historic New River Canal. The length of the trip varies, usually on whatever the campers want to do that day, but it’s always an adventure. Spot a gator, egret, snake or fish? Don’t be surprised at what lurks beneath New River! Remember, keep hands and feet inside the boat at all times! Campers also regularly have the opportunity to fish with old fashion cane poles and catch tires, buggies, shopping bags and the occasional fish. Don’t know how to bait a hook? Heres the perfect opportunity to learn! Gym and Field Fun
Hockey, soccer, basketball, battle-ball and tons more. Loads of fun, and very tiring. What more is there to say?
Art
No finger painting and coloring here. Real art projects with a real art instructor. Campers will participate in making sculptures, necklaces and working on tons of other crazy projects. Our art teachers know their stuff, and the sky is the limit.
Swimming
Campers will have the opportunity to swim daily, right here on campus. We set up 3 pools (2 regular size and 1 lower pool for our 4-6 year olds), so everyone gets a chance to enjoy. Don’t feel like taking a dip today? The concession stand is always open for business.
Opening/Closing
Any camper who has been around for a couple years knows this is our biggest camp tradition. Before the campers break into groups, the entire camp will meet in the Gym to get pumped up for the day. Loud music, line dancing and tons of fun. We set aside time to introduce staff to all the new camper’s each Monday, and we say a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance before camp begins.
Opening-Prayer of Protection
The light of God surrounds me
and is what I am.
The love of God enfolds me
and is my true nature.
The power of God protects me
and is my strength.
The presence of God watches over me
and is where I am.
Wherever I am
God is
and all is well.
Thank you God. Closing Prayer
Our father who art in heaven
hallowed be thy name.
Our day is done
it was filled with fun.
but now it is time to go our way.
Give us this day as we leave our groups
the courage to stand alone.
To be warriors all the time
even when we are at home.
Lead us back here tomorrow
for a brand new day
Where we will be challenged
to learn and grow and play.
